QR Code & Barcode Attendance Tracking
Take Attendance in Seconds — Just Scan & Go!
We just launched our brand-new QR Code & Barcode Scan Mode option for attendance — and it's a game changer. Instead of tapping through a student list, simply scan each student's card or code and MyAT instantly records their time in and time out automatically. It's the fastest way to take attendance we've ever built.
How QR Code & Barcode Attendance Works:
- Enable QR / Barcode Scan Mode in your attendance settings with a single toggle.
- Choose your preferred scan method — a USB / hardware barcode scanner or your device's camera.
- Each scan automatically records a precise time-in and time-out timestamp for that student.
- A real-time scan table shows every student, their arrival time, and departure time at a glance.
- USB scanners act as keyboards — no browser permissions required, plug in and go.
- Camera mode uses your phone, tablet, or laptop camera — perfect for contactless, hands-free check-ins.

Two Scan Methods — Pick What Works for You
Every classroom and organization is different, so we built two ways to scan:
- USB / Hardware Scanner: Plug in any standard USB barcode or QR code scanner. It works like a keyboard — just scan the card, and the student is instantly logged. No setup, no drivers, no fuss.
- Device Camera: No hardware? No problem. Use the camera built into your computer, tablet, or phone to read QR codes. Just tap "Start Camera," point it at the code, and you're done.
Automatic Time-In & Time-Out Tracking
One of the most powerful parts of scan mode is effortless time tracking. The first scan of the day logs a student's time in. When they scan again at the end of class or the event, it locks in their time out. No manual entry, no paperwork — just a clean log of exactly who was there and for how long. And if you only need to track arrivals, time out is completely optional — you can use scan mode purely for check-in without ever needing a second scan.
Who Is QR/Barcode Attendance For?
Scan mode is perfect for anyone who needs fast, accurate check-ins:
- Teachers taking attendance as students walk into class.
- Event organizers tracking attendee arrivals and departures.
- Church groups managing Sunday school or youth group check-in.
- After-school programs and tutoring centers logging session times.
- Sports teams and clubs recording practice and event attendance.
