More updates to the site!

It's been a while since this page has been updated, but believe me, many changes have been happening! I haven't had time to put all the updates here so you can take a look around for yourself to see them!

Another Entry Type

Tracking Excused and Unexcused Absences was missing in the Radio Buttons entry type, and that's no longer the case.

You'll find a new option in the Entry Type area that will now let you track Excused and Unexcused absences when using radio buttons.

Don't like calling them Classes and Students?

A new feature was just released that will let you change the labels for Classes and Students. You can also call them Departments and Employees, or enter your very own custom labels that will be used throughout the site. You can change this setting in the My Profile section once you are logged in.

Student Import Enhanced

When importing students, you can now assign the students in the import file to one of your classes.

Just choose which class you want to assign them to before uploading, or choose no class and leave them unassigned.

Student Export Enhanced

You can now choose which status of Students to export. You can export all students, or just archived or just active!

New Counts!

In the Manage Classes area, there is now a column showing the number of students in each class.

If those numbers aren't enough for you, there is a new General Stats section on the Reports main page that show how many students and classes are in the system.

Import

The Import portion of Import/Export is functional!

You can now import Classes and Students in large groups.

A new navigation item appeared!

I created a Tools navigation item on the lefthand side that will link to various useful utilities for the site.

The first tool is the ability to export all of your students into a zipped CSV file. You can also export your class list in TXT format, too.

The ability to import CSV files is on-deck and should be completed shortly.

Create new users!

You can now create new users using your own account. These new users can be assigned to their own classes, and they won't have access to other classes that you create, unless you give them access.

It's a way to organize the people who help you take attendance, and let people specialize in their own classes.

A new report was added!

A new report is available that allows you to report on a student level with custom dates. The dates can span weeks or months. You can check it out under "Student Custom Dates" in the reporting General section.

Enhanced reports

Totals were added to the Student Monthly and Class Monthly reports.
I also changed the color of table headers to make them stand out a little better.

Excused and Unexcused Absences Support

You can now track two types of Absences, Excused and Unexcused. You can turn this feature on by visiting your My Profile area and selecting one of the following Entry Types:

     Whole Class > Present, Absent (U&E), Tardy
     Added new entry format Present > Absent (U&E), Tardy

Selecting one of these two Entry Types will cause Excused and Unexcused boxes to appear on the Main attendance page, and that will allow you to drag and drop your students into these new classifications.

Of course, if you do not wish to track excused and unexcused you can continue tracking attendance with your current Entry Type.

A new report was added!

A new report was created that will display monthly data for a student, so it's appropriately named "Student Monthly Report." You can find it in the Reports section under Monthly Reports.

Since the new Student Monthly Report was created, the old report was renamed to Class Monthly Report since it's a more fitting name.

One student, multiple classes!

Students can now be in multiple classes!

If you have students who are in multiple classes, you can configure this from your Manage Classes page. First, select the person icon for the class you want to add a student to, and on the next page you can add any of your students to that particular class!

New entry format!

In addition to the current entry formats, the ability to enter your attendance data using radio buttons has been added. Just select the radio button next to the correct attendance category and you're set!

A new report was added!

A new weekly report has been added. You can report on attendance by student and have the output grouped by calendar weeks. Check it out in the Reports area under Weekly Reports, Attendance by Student.

TWO new entry formats!

You can now have your students default to uncategorized, and you can drag/drop each one to each attendance category. This also means you can leave a student uncategorized if that student doesn't attend on that particular day.

The new formats can be chosen in your Profile area, under Entering Data:

     Whole Class > Present, Absent, Tardy
     Present > Absent, Tardy

New student display configuration

You can now display your students several different ways. You can choose from:

     First Name
     Last Name
     First Name Last Name
     Last Name, First Name
     Last Name First Name

You can also sort students by first name or last name.

This affects how the students show up on the Main page, as well as on reports. You can change these settings on your Profile page.
